This four-day programme starts on the bank, climbs into the hills for two nights, and comes back down. The thread is the same river seen from three altitudes, which is how the place actually works.
It is arranged around host families rather than attractions, so what you actually do depends on what each household needs on the day. That is the honest version of a community tour.

Morning Travel to the Khong Chiang riverbank community. Late Morning Meet the river household, walk the bank. Afternoon Understand fishing, the boats and the border trade. Evening Dinner on the river side. Night Homestay one, river community. -

Into the hills
Morning Climb from the river valley into the hill villages. Late Morning Arrive, orientation with the hill household. Afternoon Terraces and the crops that matter this season. Evening Dinner, then talk about the river and the hill together. Night Homestay two, hill village. -
DAY03
Between the two worlds
Morning Work on the hill farm or tea. Late Morning Walk a path back toward the river and see how produce moves between them. Afternoon Second hill household, evening meal. Night Homestay three. -
DAY04
Back to the river
Morning Descend to the riverbank community. Late Morning Final meal with the river household. Afternoon Return to Mae Hong Son. TBD — departure time must be confirmed.
