Mae Hong Son sits in a valley ringed by highland villages, and most of them are Karen. They are not exhibits; they are neighbours who farm, go to school and run festivals.
This day is arranged around whatever the village is actually doing. Harvest means harvesting. Rain means staying in and talking. The programme exists so that you can be useful for a few hours and present for the rest.
Expect a shared lunch that takes most of the afternoon, because in a Karen household the meal and the conversation around it are the same event.

Karen village
Morning Travel from Mae Hong Son town up into the hills. Late Morning Arrive at the village. Orientation with a host around the houses, the water source and the fields. Afternoon Join whatever work the village has for the day, then a long shared meal. Late Afternoon Return to town. TBD — return time must be confirmed.
