Lanna Food and Farm Homestay
Tour Overview
- Duration: 2 Days / 1 Nights
- Group Size: 2–6
- Destination: Chiang Mai
- Activity Type: Short Stay
This is a working farm, and the week decides everything. If the family is transplanting seedlings, you are transplanting seedlings. If they are threshing, you are sitting in the dust with them.
The food follows the field. What gets served is whatever was harvested that morning or yesterday, cooked in the northern way, which means a lot of chilli and a lot of fresh herbs.
You help harvest, you help cook, and you eat when the cooking is done. There is no fixed itinerary because there cannot be one.
Evenings are for the kitchen and the family. You will end up learning how to make one dish properly and, if you are lucky, hearing about the year the river flooded.
This programme suits people who are happy to be given a job rather than an activity.
