Artisan Village and Local Craft
Tour Overview
- Duration: 1 Days
- Group Size: 2–8
- Destination: Chiang Mai
- Activity Type: One Day Trip
Between the old city and the Ping valley, the road is lined with workshops. Some of them are shops now. Some are still homes where someone makes the same thing their parents made.
This day visits the second kind. Two households, two crafts, and enough time in each to understand why the work is still worth doing.
The first is a village known for a single material. You will see the whole chain — where the material comes from, how it is prepared, and the part of the process that cannot be hurried.
The second works in the opposite direction, buying nothing and making everything from scratch, which is a much harder way to live.
Both families will feed you. Neither will want to sell you anything you did not ask for, and that is the point: this is a working visit, not a shopping stop.
