Nan silk weaving is a household industry with a household economy: the pattern is usually tied to a bride, a gift, or a ceremony, and the work is done by women who learned it from their mothers.
A day here covers the whole chain. Reeling, boiling, dyeing, winding onto the loom, weaving, and finally taking the cloth off the loom.
What you cannot learn in a day is the pattern. Those are family knowledge and they are given, not taught, which is why the programme keeps to technique and lets the host explain what she chooses to share.
